Singapore-based commercial shipyards Dauphin Shipyard Pte and McPec Marine & Offshore Engineering Pte. plan to redevelop parts of their yards in order to create dedicated superyacht refit and repair facility.
Dauphin Shipyard Pte has been active in the 35m-80m superyacht sector since 2000, and became a member of the International Superyacht Society in 2009. They have a 55m superyacht (hull 125) currently in build and for sale. New investment in a dedicated paint shed and increasing its lifting capacity from 1,000t to 1,100t are also part of Dauphin’s plans.
McPec Marine & Offshore Engineering Pte plan to add a new floating dock and paint shed to help its move into the superyacht sector.
There are three other Singapore companies able to provide refit and repair services on large yachts and superyacht in Asia all of whom are members of the Superyacht Singapore Association. They are Drydocks World SE Asia (which has four shipyards in Singapore and Indonesia), Jurong SML Shipyard, and Mech Marine Engineering Pte.
