The final touches to a superyacht is an individual choice, however the humble sailing dinghy comes rather more cheaply than many toys! RS Sailing is soon to be launching the RS Venture sailing dinghy – the perfect choice for all the family.
Versatility is the key to the RS Venture. This multi-role family dinghy has a capacity for up to 6 people (or 500kg max), and is the perfect cruiser to explore hidden coves and creeks during a superyacht stopover. Designed around requirements to give great performance under sail, sit on a mooring, as well as having the option of deploying an outboard engine on the back, the RS Venture offers a leisurely, natural alternative to the traditional superyacht speed seeking toys and tenders.
Manufactured in GRP and 16 foot in length, the RS Venture is light enough to be easily handled yet offers excellent stability through the impressive width and low freeboard. This also gives a great looking sleek boat on the water, and a great setting for a relaxed picnic afloat! Alternatively, performance can be spiced up by retrofitted spinnaker kits, for owners and guests who want a nippy little dinghy that costs considerably less and simply can’t be beaten for fun!
The huge cockpit, created by a well-forward set mast, and the optional thwart, gives room for plenty of people as well as the ability to stow the outboard engine in a rear locker. Under side tank stowage bags can be clipped into place so all kit can be stored tidily without it rolling around the bottom of the cockpit, whether it is snorkelling equipment or drinks in the cool bag compartment. A boarding ladder can also be fitted to the RS Venture, making it the perfect swim platform for when the ideal spot is discovered.
RS Sailing is able to offer luxury yacht and superyachts around the world a whole range of options on all their dinghies to complement any yacht design and layout. Custom colours and finishes can be matched to a superyacht and bespoke chocks, lifting lines and cradles can be provided to meet special storage requirements. Furthermore, upon special request, the RS dinghies can be named on the transom to match the yacht, and the owners can choose special colour-way sails for the RS dinghies. RS Sailing offers a bespoke service where necessary and is ready to help.
The RS Venture is currently at the final stage of development, and testing will continue throughout the summer, before the official launch at Southampton Boat Show 2011.
