Superyacht UK (SYUK) is pleased to present their new collaboration with Walpole, the British Luxury Consortium. As a ‘Friend’ of Walpole, this new venture will see the development of SYUK’s presence within the growing luxury lifestyle industry. It will permit SYUK to better leverage the profile of both the association as well as that of the members enabling partnerships to develop between member companies.
Walpole’s role is to further the interests of the British luxury industry. Superyacht UK and subsequently its members will benefit from harnessing and sharing the collective knowledge, experiences and resources of the ‘Friend’ membership. It will also open up a unique opportunity to network with and involve some of Britain’s leading luxury names in Superyacht UK activity. Abigail Lamb, British Marine Federation International Executive, has led the new initiative and began discussions with Walpole earlier in the year creating and presenting the SYUK proposal to Walpole’s General Manager Charlotte Keesing.
On completing the agreement Abigail said: ”This unique partnership enables us to expand our members profile within the luxury lifestyle industry, collectively championing the UK as a luxury lifestyle and Superyacht destination, and finally to better build Great Britain as the luxury exporter embracing heritage, design and craftsmanship at an international level.”
Walpole’s unique membership of over 180 of Britain’s most prestigious companies exemplify the highest standards in terms of quality, style, design, craftsmanship, creativity, service and innovation, all attributes that are synonymous with the values of Superyacht UK . SYUK will now be joining the likes of Walpole members Goodwood, Financial Times, Asprey, Harrods, Linley, Orient Express, Vertu, McLaren Automotive and British Airways, to name but a few.
Commenting on the partnership SYUK Committee member Richard Lambert of Ocean Style, part of Burgess Yachts said: “This is an incredibly exciting step for SYUK and we think it will be hugely beneficial for our members. Joining forces with Walpole means we can collectively champion the UK as a luxury destination and really work together to highlight the wealth and quality of the craftsmanship we have here.
“The UK has a rich heritage when it comes to Superyacht design and manufacture and we are delighted to be able to better profile its strength at an international level.”
The first joint activity with Walpole will be at Monaco Yacht Show in September, where SYUK will host several Walpole members at the Superyacht UK Members Lounge, the Walpole Yearbooks will also be found in the Members Lounge as coffee table books of choice for the 2012 show.
