The America’s Cup Authority (ACEA) have presented a Sustainability Charter for the 35th America’s Cup. The Susaitnability Charter has received much support from ACEA and Land Rover BAR, and has been signed by all six teams. Looks like the Land Rover BAR goal to create the UK’s most sustainable sports team will be achieved, thanks to cooperation with the team’s partners and their innovative projects.
Carbon fibre reuse and recycles, one of the biggest on-going problems, is now being address: in collaboration with Title and Innovation Partner Land Rover there has been continuous work on creating a new life cycle model for the marine industry.
Four time Olympic Champion, winner of the 34th America’s Cup and Team Principal and Skipper of Land Rover BAR, Ben Ainslie mentioned that the project is being highly expected to begin with a lot of enthusiasm from all the parties involved. Land Rover BAR is addressing one of the biggest problems of the marine industry nowadays: single use plastic, reuse and recycling, water conservation, avoiding water pollution, saving energy, protecting marine habitats, being diverse and inclusive, supporting the local economy, communicating a better future, and identifying a Sustainability Champion in our the a to collaborate with other teams. It should be mentioned that Land Rover BAR has already has some success in implementing strategies to address the issues.
