The fourth unit of the highly successful Southern Wind SW105GT series is currently under construction at the South African shipyard. Sold to an experienced yacht owner, SW105 Hull #4 is scheduled for delivery in 2021.
The yacht will feature a shallow draft of only 3.8m, new deck design and a square-top main sail. “The SW105 GT has a generous sail area for excellent acceleration and performance in light winds and downwind in all wind speeds,” said Vice President of Farr Yacht Design, Jim Schmicker.
Thanks to the carbon hull, the weight of the vessel has been significantly reduced, while the hydraulic and electric power management have also been designed lightweight. The brand new deck layout will include a wide cockpit and the helm located closer to the gunwales.
Accommodation will be offered for up to six guests in three cabins. The owner’s cabin is located forward, while two guest cabins are aft of the salon. A day head and a studio convertible into a double guest cabin are placed forward of the salon.
The crew quarters provide accommodation for up to five staff members.
