Tahiti, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in the world, nestled in French Polynesia, South Pacific, attracted a total number of 45 luxury superyachts in 2015, as reported by Asia Pacific Superyachts Tahiti (APS) director Etienne Boutin.
Looking forward to an amazing 2016, Etienne Boutin said: “2015 was an average year for Tahiti superyacht visits with a total of 45 – let’s hope 2016 will be brilliant!”
The main Pacific Hub represents Tahiti’s Marina Taina, with Papeete Port coming in second. The top class Marina Taina is positioned five miles west of Papeete Harbour and was the first superyacht facility in French Polynesia, built in 1994 and expanded in 2004.
Marina Taina offers a safe, quiet and pollution-free environment in a breath-taking lagoon. The marina is close to city amenities and within walking distance of excellent dining and a shopping mall, home to the largest supermarket in Tahiti. Two concrete docks are reserved for luxury yachts and able to handle up to 27 units under 60 meters at the same time. Mooring is stern-to with one anchor and lines on 4 tons bottom blocks – depth varies from 4 to 15m.
Plenty of superyachts arriving from the Panama Canal reach the fabulous French Polynesia every year to explore its pristine islands and exotic culture.
