The Italian boutique shipyard Tankoa has begun the construction of the brand-new T560 luxury yacht APACHE measuring 56 metres. Designed by Alberto Mancini, APACHE’s design was inspired by the 76m Apache design by Mancini that was first unveiled at the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show, which was then re-invented into a smaller package to suite the new owner’s requirements.
“The task was to replicate a similar design with similar proportions to the 76-metre version, keeping the yacht sleek and elegant but still offering huge volumes inside with features that are more typically found on yachts larger than 1,000 gross tons,” says Claudio Corvino, Sales and Business Development Manager at Tankoa.
“The tricky part was to maximise internal space with minimal compromises, to create a beach-style home-away-from-home retreat with expansive external spaces and without the formality that is sometimes found on yachts of this size,” Corvino continues. “The result is an incredible yacht with incredible spaces – and with a design that not only meets all the requests of our American clients but which also demonstrates the capability, flexibility and ingenuity of the Tankoa team.”
The bridge deck provides the captain and crew with an excellent view and is also a great place for inquisitive visitors during their stay on board. The ‘freed-up’ upper deck now features the owner’s suite in a prominent position. Its forward location not only offers breathtaking panoramic views from the 50 square meter interior studio apartment but also provides a spacious private terrace with a 5.5-meter flying pool and an outdoor living space with a fire pit in the middle.
Further aft is an elegant upper saloon that connects to an upper aft terrace with an al fresco dining possibility for 12 guests. The deck below offers a further socialising area with a comfortable aft saloon and a convertible forward dining area.
The accommodation features five guest suites, all positioned on the main deck forward, which in fact is an unusual layout for a yacht of this size. A beautiful, large full-beam VIP stateroom forward and four convertible, twin/double suites with excellent sea views. Each stateroom has its own ensuite bathroom.
Having the guest suites on the main deck, allows for spacious crew quarters on the lower deck, while the amidship has an inviting wellness centre to port and a gym to starboard with a drop-down terrace. The tender garage is positioned forward on the main deck level, behind the mooring deck and under the owner’s terrace, hosting a 7-metre tender, rescue boat and toys.
One of the focal points of APACHE is her beach club, complete with a 4-metre glass pool and drop-down side balconies, expanding into a 90-square-metre waterside entertainment area. Smoked glass in the transom connects the interior of the beach club to the exterior, while the main aft deck is joined to the beach club via two aft stairs and will be used as an upper terrace rather than a separate guest area.
The T560 Apache is distinguished by the natural flow and transition from inside to outdoors, and this useful and invitingly informal arrangement is paired with elegant lines that masterfully conceal the yacht’s massive 840GT capacity. The fact that so many essential components of the larger concept have been carried over to this new yacht speaks to Mancini’s design prowess and the robustness of the original idea.
