Saturday, 12th of September saw the beautifully designed and executed 50m motor yacht OLOKUN hit the water at the boutique shipyard Tankoa Yachts located in Genoa, Italy. Designed by Francesco Paszkowski with interior decor by Casa Dio Miami/London, she is the third hull in the S501 series, following her sisterships Bintador and Vertige.
Her layout follows those of the previous two S501 yachts, featuring fold-out balconies in the master suite which is located on the main deck forward, as well as other features, liken the side-loading tender garage in the stern or the spacious beach club in the transom.
However, two important changes are characteristic to this vessel:
- the aft main deck is solely dedicated to the saloon with plenty of lounging areas, whereas the dining area is located on the upper deck, offering fabulous views.
- The owner suite located forward on the main deck also features a study, which is convertible into an additional cabin with a private ensuite bathroom.
One of the other outstanding features is the yacht’s eye-catching black hull and metallic-grey superstructure: a high-performance coating has been applied by Tankoa in order to reduce the temperature of the metal hull by as much as 10°C to prevent overheating to the dark hull colour.
A modern, semi-displacement vessel, OLOKUN is powered by diesel propulsion reaching a top speed of 17,5 knots and cruises at 14 knots. She will now continue with interior outfitting followed by extensive sea trials, to be delivered at the end of November 2020.
