The Italian shipyard TANKOA YACHTS based in Genoa has announced the launch of the striking 50m (1o65’) luxury motor yacht known as Tankoa S501 Hybrid BINTA D’OR, previously known as 50m S502 Elettra. The yacht is now preparing for extensive sea trials before she gets delivered to her European owner to enjoy during the summer season as well as to be showcased at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show in September.

Tankoa S501 Hybrid is based on a similar design to VERTIGE with a few key points that make this yacht different to her predecessor: The new Tankoa S501 Hybrid hull number two has been fitted with a hybrid propulsion package, she boasts five cabins, including an owner suite located on the main deck and four guests cabins on the lower deck and the galley, has also been conveniently placed on the main deck. This yacht also features a touch-and-go helipad on the foredeck and the entire project has been developed in collaboration with the owner.

She is powered by two MTU 8V4000M54 (895 kW) and two 300 kW electric motors which are fed by two 250 kW variable speed generators. The yacht reaches a sped of up to 10.5 knots with a range of 4,900nm when in Electric-Diesel mode (EDM) fed by two variable-speed generators.
In Hybrid Mode, one of the two main engines shafts generates the needed electrical power to run the second electric motor for propulsion and hotel needs. At 12 knots, the yacht will have a cruising range of approx. 4,000 nm. In this mode, the two diesel generators are simply shut down during navigation.

In Traditional Mode, the yacht can sail at 16,5 knots using both main diesel engines for propulsion and a diesel generator feeding the hotel loads. In this case, the variable speed generators self-adjust their rotation speed to the required load.
In Full-Speed Mode, with both main engines and generators supplying power to the two electric motors and feeding the hotel loads, the yacht will reach a top speed in excess of 18 knots.
S501 features interiors by Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini, who created a light, inviting ambience, with neutral tones and plenty of natural materials.
Some of the Stand-out features include the gym and the fantastic beach club, both located on the lower deck, together with two VIP staterooms and two twin guest staterooms, as well as the crew quarters and service areas.
The main deck has been fitted with a huge sun bed, a u-shaped sofa, coffee tables and a bar. On the interior, there is an inviting salon and a dining area, together with the above-mentioned galley and a large master suite. The master suite has a private study and lounge area as well as a fold-down terrace to starboard and a large openable window to port.
The upper deck is perfect for relaxation and socialising, featuring an alfresco dining table as well as access to the sky lounge. A sunbathing area and open-air lounge area can be found on the foredeck, offering maximum privacy.
Jacuzzi, sofas, sun beds, up & down foldable tables and a bar can be found on the fabulous flybridge, which also offers magnificent views.
