Thailand is reopening its borders to luxury yachts from across the world from the 1st of March 2022.
Fully vaccinated travellers from any country can now apply for a Thailand Pass under the TEST & GO scheme or sandbox programme. Travellers who are not fully vaccinated can still enter under the Alternative Quarantine entry scheme.
TEST & GO:
Under the TEST & GO system, visitors can arrive by air, land or sea with the required prepaid accommodation reduced to only a 1-night stay (or a stay aboard for those arriving by yacht) and Covid-19 tests have been revised to one RT-PCR test and one self-ATK test from the beginning of March.
As a result of these rule changes, Phuket, Koh Samui and the Gulf of Thailand is set to welcome luxury yacht charters back to the Asia Pacific’s ‘Superyacht Hub’.
An official announcement is expected to be released soon in the Royal Thai Government Gazette, and luxury yacht charter guests can check with their charter agent to ensure that they have the current information.
Luxury yachts can enter the country by port with a Certificate of Entry, visitors arriving by plane can arrive via a direct international flight and/or transit domestically via a dedicated flight. By land, visitors can enter at the checkpoints of Nong Khai, Udon Thani and Songkhla.
Health insurance should provide cover of no less than $20,000 USD for foreign nationals, while Thais and foreign expatriates under Thailand’s national healthcare coverage are exempt.
Thailand is a favourite charter destination in Southeast Asia, with incredible Scuba diving and snorkelling sites, impressive white sand beaches amongst the Andaman Islands, and an abundance of natural beauty in the Phang Nga Bay.
