Heesen Yachts have unveiled their revolutionary 65m aluminium design based on the Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF). The innovative concept for the new hull design will increase overall performance.
Tank tests have shown that the design of the FDHF improves the efficiency of the vessel by around 30% in comparison with traditional hard chine and round bilge hulls. The Heesen 6500 FDHF has a sleek slenderness and special form resulting in a very low wave profile over the entire speed range, while also improving its manoeuvrability and sea-keeping ability. As a result the new Heesen 6500 hull form lowers its environmental impact in terms of engine emissions and reduces the running costs the yacht.
The 65m Heesen Superyacht will feature exterior design by Dutch designer Frank Laupman of Omega Architects. Other leading international designers have also been asked by Heesen to create alternative exterior styling proposals.
Notable design features of Omega Architects concept include a touch-and-go helipad forward and a semi-shaded area surrounding the swimming pool on the main deck. On the lower deck there is a large beach club area, with a bar, sauna and hammam. As well as the large transom platform, there is a side balcony that opens from the hull to port providing the owner an additional area to enjoy the sea.
Heesen Yachts will present the innovative 65 Fast Displacement Hull Form at the Monaco Yacht Show on September 22nd 2010.
