Amels has unveiled its latest Limited Editions luxury yacht model the AMELS 60, designed by critically acclaimed Espen Oeino and the first superyacht in the series to be named after the length in metres instead of feet.
At 196.9ft, the hull sits between the AMELS 180 and AMELS 200 with the largest in the series being the AMELS 272. Currently under construction, the first AMELS 60 is due to delivery in spring 2022 and will come with cutting-edge hybrid by Amels technology for reduced environmental impact wherever she cruises.
The shipyard’s in-house naval architecture team has created an entirely new hull form for the AMELS 60 for increased hull efficiency and stability while cruising in blue water. London-based Studio Indigo have created the interiors, creating a flowing contemporary layout that efficiently uses the already ample space.
Among the on board amenities is a massive sundeck and swim platform, a balcony off the Owners’ suite and an interior volume of 830 GT. A 9m/29.5ft tender is stored on the foredeck, which also has plenty of room for alfresco dining or sunbathing.
Electrical propulsion motors allow for cruising of up to 7 knots, and this mode ensures that noise and vibration are kept to a minimum for sleeping travellers. The AMELS 60 is capable of reaching a top speed of 15.5 knots with a transatlantic range of 4,500 nautical miles at an economical 13 knots.
The accommodation sleeps a maximum of 12 guests across 6 en-suite cabins, with a crew of 13 for stellar service during journeys.
Since the creation of the line back in 2007, 40 Limited Editions hulls have been constructed, offering Owners semi-customisation options.
Amels will be attending the Monaco Yacht Show 2019 running from the 25th to the 28th of September, where the shipyard will be taking enquiries.
