Motor yacht Picchiotti-Vitruvius 50m, the first unit of three motor yachts sold to date by the Perini Navi Group, is ready for the launch scheduled for the first week of July 2010.
The first Perini Navi motoryacht was transported this week from one of our three new sheds (3,200 sq m each) to the square outside, where she will fully completed for the launch.

Inside the second shed of the shipyard in an advanced state of development is the second Picchiotti- Vitruvius sold by the Perini NaviGroup . She is 55 m MY built according to ABS Ice-Class standards and plans to make the passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean through the Arctic archipelago of Canada. Delivery is expected in 2011.
The third-Picchiotti Vitruvius superyacht at 73 meters, whose hull is currently in production at the shipyard Perini Navi Group Yildiz – Istanbul – Turkey, where it will then be transported to La Spezia where her construction will be completed. The delivery of the Picchiotti Vitruvius-73 meters is expected in 2013.
In 2006 the Perini Navi Group announced its entry into the motor yacht market and presented a new line of products which re-launched the Picchiotti brand. The new generation of motoryacht- the Picchiotti Vitruvius – was designed in collaboration with the French naval architect Philippe Briand. Briand was inspired by the hydrodynamics of sailing yachts in which their lines, distribution volume and weight are optimized to achieve the highest possible level of efficiency.

The 50 metre motor yacht Picchiotti as designed by Vitruvius is a new project combines the characteristics of the Vitruvius Concept – a new type of yacht created by the French naval architect Philippe Briand – with the features of an Explorer vessel, following the owner’s requirements.
The Vitruvius Explorer 50m will be the first yacht to be built with the Vitruvius Concept and the first motor yacht by Perini Navi under the Picchiotti brand. In the words of Giancarlo Ragnetti, Perini Navi CEO: “The name of Picchiotti is part of the Italian shipbuilding tradition of which it was one of the founders.
Since the 1990s Picchiotti is part of the Perini Navi Group which absorbed its experience and valuable traditions. Today we are re-launching the Picchiotti brand on a class of motor yachts different from any other product present on the market. This project shows great affinities with the sailing universe and attests a true innovative spirit, aspects that well match the Perini Navi Group philosophy”. The construction of the 50m will be completed in Spring 2010.
