This year’s China (Xiamen) International Boat Show (CXIBS)，one of the largest boat shows in China, took place at the Xiamen Marina in Wuyuwan Bay, Xiamen, China, between November 8 and 11.
Attracting an international audience of hundreds of thousands of marine enthusiasts, the show covered two locations with more than 50,000 square metres of space. From astonishing superyachts to fishing boats, leisure boats and boats for every budget, CXIBS 2013 delivered the excitement of boating, for any lifestyle. It is worth mentioning that Azimut Yachts hosted a special owners’ meeting at this year’s CXIBS. That means China is becoming a more important market for the development of the global yacht industry.
Here are the top 10 reasons why people attended this year’s show:
1. The well-known Feedship 150 super yacht BLUE SKY was on display
There were 300 plus luxury yachts at Xiamen Marina during CXIBS 2013 including Ferretti 80-ft，Ferretti 84-ft, AZIMUT 64-ft，AZIMUT 72-ft and Feadship. Superyacht brands like Sunseeker, Princess, Lagoon, Beneteau, Sunreef, Jeanneau, Regal, Sessa, Majesty, Brunswick, Absolute, Sealine and Rodman were exhibited at the Show.

2. High-end Cars, Yachts and Upmarket Products on Display
The best cars, luxury yachts, airplanes, real estate projects and luxurious upmarket products were on display so as to fully represent the distinctive styles, charms and highlights of the luxury realm.
3. Superyachts Trial, experience the life of the billionaire
Those looking to live like a billionaire took advantage of the Superyachts Trial which was available to all those who were able to register.
4. Yacht Babe Competition
Attractive and sexy girls are a must at any luxury boat show. The Yacht Babe Competition which featured sexy yacht babes was a favorite for many attendees, especially photographers
5. Owners’ day held by Azimut
Azimut Yachts hosted a special owners’ meeting at this year’s China (Xiamen) International Boat Show 2013. Giovanna Vitelli, the daughter of the founder of the company, Poalo Vitelli, spearheaded the event. Considerable effort has been made developing Xiamen and surrounding areas in Fujian province into one of the leading yachting markets in mainland China. As Giovanna Vitelli put it: “China is a very important market for global strategy development and since the Xiamen show is one of the most influential shows in China we decided to hold the event there.”
6. Matchmaking Meeting
During the Show, the Organizing Committee held a matchmaking meeting for domestic and overseas enterprises, providing a communication and exhibition platform for overseas enterprises and helping them gain domestic exposure.
7. China Club Cup Sailing Boat Competition
The annual China Club Cup Sailing Boat Competition is organized by the Sailing Windsurfing Association of China, Xiamen government and Huli District government. Participants from countries and regions including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, France and the United States compete for glory in this competition.
8. Mystery guest appearances
“A line” stars often make an experience as well as international stars.
9. Traditional snacks & gifts
Xiamen is also famous for its delicious snacks which include shacha noodles, worm jelly, scallion meters fruit, carbonado zhongzi etc. Xiamen green bean pie is another favorite and comes in different flavors including green tea, pineapple and even pork.
10. Pleasure resorts
Gulangyu island is known to be a very romantic place. The blooming flowers, flourishing trees and beautiful scenery have won Gulangyu Island the name “Garden on the Sea”. Gulangyu’s beauty blends well with the old houses, beautiful harbour scenery and unique shops in the area.
Wuyuwan Bay Wetland Park with its great fishing and eighty-two species of birds is also nearby.
