The 46th edition of the largest boat show in New England attracted international audience of boating enthusiast and also those who chartered a luxury yacht through this stunning region. This year attendance of the show has exceed expectations of the event authorities. With more than 600 exhibitors and an exceptional variety of boats, accessories, equipment, electronics, gear and services for boater, the Newport International Boat Show was a major success.
The number of entertainment, education and fun activities was greater than in the previous years editions. The highlights of the show, featured in At The Helm program, were the on-water training for boaters a professional sailing experience on a high-performance M32 Catamaran, which was recently used for the World Match Racing Tour. The CruisePort University offered a number of classroom type of workshops by some bespoke speakers.
The Leukaemia & Lymphoma Society’s Leukaemia Cup Regatta became an official charitable partner of the show this year. The Environmental Partner was Sailors for the Sea. These non-profit organisations have teamed up with the Newport International Boat Show to link their love for boating to their vital missions: finding a cure for cancer and ocean conservation.
The Hunt 72 received an award for the Best New Powerboat Over 35 Feet and the Best Powerboat in The Show.
The event authorities also reported that this year’s edition had great sale figures with quite a few boats sold during the show.
