Trend Marine, a superyacht glazing and door specialist has completed an 18-month project which saw an investment of £570,000 in new state of the art production facilities at its site in eastern England.
Trend has targeted the superyacht market as a primary revenue-generator in recent years and the reward has been superyacht clients including Gulf Craft, Horizon, Lazzara, Palmer Johnson, Princess, and Westport.
This expansion in the superyacht sector is reflected by 50 per cent year-on-year growth since 2009, enabling the company to develop a Sag Bent Chemically-Toughened Glass Production Facility and a dedicated facility producing high specification insulated glazing units (IGUs).
“Trend Marine Products are fully committed to increasing our presence in the superyacht sector”, says Frank Buckley, Trend Marine’s Managing Director. “We have focused our business development activities on this very demanding market, with a high level of success. Our Engineering Team are currently designing new glazing products and solutions that are being sought by superyacht owners, designers and yards. Superyacht glass supply contracts with some of the most prestigious yards are becoming an increasingly important element of our business mix”, he continued.
Trend Marine has also had its Fire Safety Glass successfully approved to the demanding A60 rating by the International Maritime Organisation. Designed for Zone 1 applications, it has now been added to the Trend Marine superyacht portfolio.
