UCINA’s Advisory Board, representing more than 400 companies of the yacht industry, has recently hosted a meeting to approve the commencement of work to organize the 54th International Boat Show of Genoa, thus continuing the experience of great development, which started last year.
Over the past few months the Association has worked hard to identify the development strategies to be implemented for an event which, despite the challenges of the domestic market, has maintained a primary and indispensable role in the promotion of the boat industry, bearing in mind that the center of mass of pleasure craft is called Mediterranean.
The Boat Show will focus on four aspects to reinforce the position of the boat industry.
The first is the duration of the event, which will be extended by one day and therefore last six days, from 1 to 6 October. The extra day will ensure the optimal implementation of the internationalization programs.
The second, major aspect is the enhancement of the international scope of the event, which will be able to count on conspicuous investments for the accommodation and facilities for the specialized and non-specialized international press, as well as for the vertical development of business contacts with the most important buyers in the industry.
The city of Genoa plans to fully support this event, which is one of its major assets, by placing at the disposal of the Boat Show exhibitors its most prestigious locations to be used as venues for press conferences and international dealer meetings. This will be a remarkable opportunity to discover the many wonders and resources of the area.
Another huge challenge the event must win is to transform itself into the ultimate sea experience.
Every visitor should be able to see beyond the showcase the event represents and feel involved in a variety of ways, and especially as a protagonist rather than simply a spectator. The venue will furthermore provide new services and activities for each target.
The fourth aspect will be a substantial revisal of the Marina Ormeggi rates, which will ensure the possibility to display the widest assortment of products and focus more on the previews.
UCINA looks forward to the official opening of the registrations in the first week of May.
