Russian designer, Vasily Klyukin, has created six absolutely unique yacht concepts. During the Monaco Yacht Show 2014 in September, some of these superyacht projects were presented, together with the Admiral Shipyard, the brand of The Italian Sea Group.
“As of today, “Azzam” is the largest private yacht (180 meters), it’s followed by Roman Abramovich’s “Pelorus” yacht. But my favorite is “A” yacht, that was built for Andrey Melnichenko, by Philippe Starck‘s project”,- designer Vasily Klyukin says. He knows that: “The winner in length or speed not often can be determined by the unaided eye. There are so many beautiful boats, they can be white or blue… But if you are not a professional of yacht business, you wouldn’t be able to identify them immediately. The “A” yacht is instantly recognizable from any distance. It becomes the main decoration of any port or bay. Since time immemorial, the men competed,- it’s in our blood. The bloody battles of generals are left behind in the history, nowadays we have the competition on the football field, the boxing ring or at the stock exchange. There are over 7 billion people in the world and we strive to be different, unique, we want to have the insignias. That’s why we like to drive the tuned up cars, to look at rare things, etc.”
Just like his architecture projects, superyacht concepts of Vasily Klyukin do not participate in competition in length and luxury, but each of them can absolutely claim the title “The world’s most beautiful yacht”.
“There are no dolphins in the big money world, the sharks are all over the place, and if you see the yacht over 50 meters, you can be sure – it’s owned by a business shark”, Vasily Klyukin believes.
Here is how the designer himself describes his yacht projects:
““Manhattan”. The view of Manhattan from the water impressed, impresses and will impress. Manhattan in the port of Miami, it sounds unreal… But the human imagination is boundless and one day Manhattan will appear in front of Miami!
“Mississippi”. The appearance of this yacht awakens the images of the paddle steamers, that remained in the past, Mark Twain’s era and a little later,- Ernest Hemingway’s.
“White Swan”. The Swan-ship – beautiful and graceful. You can climb the stairs, hidden in bird-yacht’s transparent neck, to get outside to a small, but comfortable, breakfast area.
“Blue Bird”.The blue bird is the bird of happiness, Maurice Maeterlinck dedicated his famous play to it.”
The yacht resembles the sports car. The great deal of them are rushing around Monaco, where the designer lives.
The magnificent yacht “Mondrian” does not differ in geometry from most of the yachts, but it’s totally different in color. “Mondrian inspired Yves Saint Laurent, Lola Prusak, the architects and designers all around the world, and finally came to the world of yachting”, Vasily Klyukin explaines his conception.
