Premier Marinas’ 2014 investment of £800,000 in UK‘s Brighton Marina is beginning to show, as improvement works are in full swing on a number of projects throughout the summer.
The phased installation of new pontoons and fingers is well underway. May saw the completion of Phase 1, with 42 new fingers installed throughout the marina. Phase 2, which will involve the installation of a further 100 fingers, will commence imminently.
Brighton’s Marina Manager, Chris Magro, commented: “The damage caused by the extreme weather conditions during the winter meant that some berth holders had to move from their usual berths. I am delighted to report that with the installation of new pontoons these berth holders are now returning to their home berths.”
Installation of the new Meter Macs electricity system has already been completed on pontoon 5 and will be completed on pontoon 16 by mid-June. The new system will make the supply more reliable and provide even more accurate electricity management.
The marina will also soon be able to offer Jet Ski berthing, with 10 brand new Jet Ski docks on order and scheduled to be installed within a month.
Premier continues to press ahead with the rollout of brand new free WiFi across the group, which is on track to go live at Brighton Marina in July as part of an additional £50,000 investment. The new service, which has been successfully launched at Chichester Marina is based on a completely new technology infrastructure that has been proven to work in the demanding conditions of a marine environment.
Brighton Marina berth holders will be entitled to use the new free WiFi service for one device at a time for up to four hours in any one day. The free service is also supplemented by a premium option; ‘Premier WiFi Plus’, which is available on an annual or daily basis. Premier WiFi Plus allows the use of up to three devices at a time, enables VPN and will provide unlimited internet access when connected to a HotSpot.
The new service is planned for all luxury yacht marinas by the end of 2014.
