Porto Montenegro is making the last preparations for works on its anticipated marina extension, as it draws closer to the end of 2013. Since its inauguration in 2009, the superyacht marina has increased its berth capacity from 85 to 250, accommodating luxury yachts measuring between 12 and 150m in length.
The next phase of development will see the marina double its capacity by Summer 2015 with the release of the first additional 180 berths in May 2014. Upon completion the marina will offer 490 berths with 122 reserved for yachts 30m and above – the largest offering of superyacht berths in the Mediterranean.
Following the designs of Marina Projects from the UK, leading experts in the field of superyacht marina design, Montenegrin company Yu Briv started work in November 2013 on the expansion of Jetties 2 and 3, the construction of a jetty parallel to Jetty 4, and a new bunkering jetty.
The extension comes at no better time for the port following this year’s summer season where the marina operated at 102% capacity. Throughout construction Porto Montenegro are offering off-plan berth rates, approximately 20% less than the current marina.
