Taken place in the fantastic Western Mediterranean yacht charter location – Valencia in Spain, this year’s Valencia Boat Show closed its doors with a very satisfying balance for the organization. The event provided five days of intense commercial as well as recreational activity.
An increase in exhibitors, water and dry boats, new socio-cultural disciplines and sports activities repositories, dining and entertainment strengthening, have been applauded both by audience and participating companies.
With a profuse business that has fully satisfied the exhibitors, the show also met expectations of many fans and uninitiated of all ages who came to the event.
President of the show Jorge de Haro stressed: “Firms, federations involved and visitors were very satisfied. With more than 40,000 people, there has been an increase in trade visitors from all over the country. Several companies requested information to become exhibitors for the first time next year. We leave this new edition very reinforced and fully motivated to start working on 2015 edition”.
As last year, Valencia University is immersed in drafting a report on the socio-economic and touristic impact of the showroom. The report, which will be made public soon, is made out of information gathered during the Boat Show.
In sporting terms, the highlight of this year’s show was the celebration of the Regional Championship Cruise, which VALENCIA BOAT SHOW co-organizeed with the Valencian Community Sailing Federation.
Other developments within open to the public nautical disciplines included a program of activities that incorporated diving and a valencian cart corcheo fishing exhibition, a native modality that aroused the curiosity of many visitors.
A novel highlight of the current edition was the gastronomic strengthening with two new areas: VV Nautica, Food & Music, located on the third floor of the “Veles e Vents” building and managed by El Corte Inglés Club del Gourmet and Grupo La Sucursal, and Valencia Boat Show Gastro, a tapa fair located at the end of the channel managed by Quintessence.
Both proposals were integrated with other interesting activities such as fashion shows, lectures and courses, music performances, etc.
As in last edition’s, the show had different institutions and sports organizations collaborating to offer free sea baptisms in various disciplines, workshops for all ages, children’s play sea themed activities and water sports exhibits. The sea turtle recovered in the Sea Ark traditional release, starred by three loggerhead turtle this year, attracted considerable interest among the audience.
