In addition to the design and construction of new yachts, Van Dam Nordia also carries out extensive refits to the highest Dutch standards.
Finished last month was the 70’ Mulder motor yacht White Princess. Jobs on this ship included a complete painting system and new teak deck on the entire vessel.
We welcomed the 55’ Nordia Saphir back for a refit. Work included the installation of a custom build protective cockpit, paint jobs and major maintenance.
This week we waved goodbye to the 65’ Motor trawler Beluga. This impressive ship had an extensive overhaul. She was completely repainted in a matte grey and white combination which makes her look even more sturdy than she already was.
With a slipway of 150 tons the Van Dam Nordia shipyard can accommodate yachts up to 36 metres in length.
Van Dam Refit clients are looking to access the yard’s renowned craftsmanship, professionalism and cost efficiencies.
The Van Dam Nordia shipyard is one of the world’s oldest yacht-builders. Since shipbuilding is a trade that often goes from one generation to the next, the Van Dam yard has also been passed on through the family ranks. Until this day the yard is owned by the Van Dam family and run by Robert van Dam’s son in law Jacco Jongkind, Managing Director of the yard. The design department is lead by Robin ten Hoope, who has been co-responsible for the latest generation of Nordia yachts for the past 10 years.
The yard currently has about 30 direct employees that closely work together with our sub-contractors to achieve our single and ultimate goal; Building yachts to the highest quality standards. Our devotion to deliver true custom yachts requires a staff that solely consists of specialists.
By sharing best practises and frequent training we make sure that all our expertise stays within our company. The combination of state of the art design & engineering and the high skill levels of our workforce is our guarantee to our customers; Pure yachting excitement.
