The Dutch luxury yacht builder, Van Der Valk has announced that it has received a new order for the third Continental Three motor yacht. This is the third order for this semi-displacement new line of vessels, with unique and striking design by Guido de Groot. Just like her sisterships, the 26-metre superyacht will bring together modern looks with understated classic touches and boast a number of special features selected by her owners. The luxury yacht is scheduled for completion in 2016.
Amongst the main characteristics of the latest Continental Three will be her custom-made mast ensuring the vertical clearance in lower than six metres in order to accommodate for client’s wishes when sailing in his favourite locations.
The yacht will also boast an extended hydraulic tender launching platform which can also be used as a beach lounge and swim platform. Storing the tender in the stern area will allow for the flybridge to be kept free for other functions.
The interior of this new Continental Three yacht will mainly feature teak and other woods to create a warm and classic atmosphere with plenty of rounded shapes adding to her elegant appearance.
The flybridge offers plenty of space with an outdoor steerage position and two L-shaped sofas for dining, as well as a fantastic relaxation area in privacy. There are two large sun beds, one in front of the steering position and the other on the roof of the master stateroom, accessible via the foredeck. Near the anchors, there will be two lounge chairs. Al fresco entertaining will be enchanted thanks to the wet bar behind the helm seat and a barbecue at in the aft section of the flybridge.
The main deck will include beautiful dining table seating eight guests for al fresco dining. Foldable stainless steel doors will open up to the spacious main saloon, which will provide fantastic views and plenty of natural light.
The raised pilot house, situated centrally on the main deck, is yet another lovely feature. The master stateroom is located forward and provides fabulous vistas from this elevated location onboard. This separation from the guest areas provides additional privacy for the owners. The suite is fitted with a double king bed, has private en-suite bathroom facility with walk-in shower, a seating and study area and plenty of storage.
Guest accommodation spread over the lower deck and includes three guest cabins with en-suite bathrooms. The two double VIP cabins are situated aft and one guest cabin with Pullmans accommodating four guests is located centrally. On this deck, the yacht also has a utility storage room with cooler/freezer department and a laundry area in the foyer. The crew quarters are situated forward and boast two crew cabins and a crew mess, shower and a head.
The Continental Three yacht is fitted with two MTU engines with a maximum of 1502 hp each, a 45hp hydraulic thruster and a 35 hp hydraulic stern thruster. The yacht is expected to reach a maximum speed of 25 knots and cruise at 20 knots. In addition, she will have a Naiad 302 fin stabilisation system and two 26kW Northern lights generators on board.
