Dutch shipyard Van der Valk has launched and delivered its latest luxury yacht named JOY, measuring 24.75m/81ft and constructed entirely from aluminium.
Commissioned by an Owner from the shipbuilding industry, M/Y JOY is built to RINA standards and has plenty of exterior space for alfresco living: The lower deck is fitted with a fold-down swim platform and two stairways connect to the main deck aft, where a curving sofa is fitted along the stern and an elevated table for meals. Comfortable sun pads cover the bow and the flybridge hosts a final outdoor seating area along with the outdoor helm station, an additional forward seat and room to the aft for a Williams Turbojet 385 tender launched and retrieved by a Davit crane.
The interiors from Guido de Groot are finished in Pennsylvania walnut and Zebrano wood for a warm and welcoming contemporary appearance. Numerous square windows are placed along the hull to illuminate the accommodation on the lower deck, and extensive glazing is used in the open-plan salon and forward dining area for excellent natural lighting and uninterrupted views.
The accommodation is designed for up to six guests and consists of a full-beam Master suite, a VIP stateroom and a twin cabin. There is also full-beam facilities and accommodation for a crew of two.
Three Volvo Penta IPS800 power motor yacht JOY, giving her a maximum speed of 23 knots and a cruising speed of 18.4 knots.
