Turkey-based yacht builder Vicem Yachts has announced the delivery of their latest 28.95m (94’9”) custom-built explorer yacht EMPIRE. She is based on Vicem’s 107 model but with modifications to suit the exact requirements of her new Australian owners.
Her spacious flybridge and shaded aft cockpit showcase the Vicem pedigree as does her high-quality interior finish.
“The owners came to speak to us with a very clear idea in mind,” said Deniz Sonmez, Vicem’s head of interior designers. “They had fallen in love with the classic Vicem 107 Cruiser and wanted a yacht built in her image. Our in-house design team took full account of their requests and created a layout precisely tailored to suit their wishes.”
The yacht features an abundance of outdoor space offering seating and dining settings across the foredeck, an expansive cockpit and a huge flybridge. The cockpit is fully covered creating a lovely shaded al fresco dining area, while the fabulous sun deck spans two-thirds of the full length of the yacht. The wonderful, elevated position is the social hub on board accommodating a full wet bar, an informal dining setting for ten guests and a heated jacuzzi, positioned to starboard. The aft position can house the tender and toys while underway and is fitted with a 1000kg lifting capacity.
Empire features an open-plan layout in the main salon, with her seating, dining and galley areas connected on a single step-free level. Ample sofas and a table for eight are both within easy reach of the galley and as the yacht is designed for owner operation, the family-friendly layout works well.
The owner’s full-beam stateroom is equipped with a king-size bed, vanity table, sofa and ensuite bathroom while the remaining guest accommodation includes a VIP in the bow, a double and a twin with Pullman bunk in between. The crew and guest areas are cleverly separated by the engine room on the lower deck amidships.
Performance comes from twin 1,600 horsepower MTU 10V engines alongside variable-speed bow- and stern-thrusters.
Luxury yacht EMPIRE will make her debut in Spring 2024 at the Sanctuary Cove Yacht Show on the Gold Coast of Australia.
