Measuring 40 meters in length over all, the multi-winning J Class sailing yacht Rainbow was launched at the Holland Jachtbouw shipyard in 2012. Based on William Starling Burgess’ lines of the original 1934 America’s Cup winner, the majestic superyacht Rainbow has been beautifully designed by Dykstra Naval Architects. Below is a video showing this beauty, released by Holland Jachtbouw.
This spectacular J boasts a classic interior true to the 1930s and a modern hybrid propulsion and power system specifically designed and engineered for luxury yacht Rainbow. Her luxury accommodation has not in any way compromised her performance, illustrated by her proven track record on the race course.
Super yacht Rainbow is true to her original lines plans and built in aluminium to Lloyds Register and MCA Classification at the same time complying with the rules of the J Class Association. She carries carbon spars and EC6 rigging.
Her stunning finish is down to the Holland Jachtbouw craftsmen who worked tirelessly to provide exactly the correct finish both above and below decks, giving her a unique appeal. Unlike the original Rainbow, her interior is fully fitted out for elegant comfort and Dykstra partnered with deVosdeVries on the design, which features beautifully detailed profiles and panelling giving a 1930s Art Deco impression.
