As 106m/348ft sailing yacht BLACK PEARL nears completion, more footage of the Oceanco superyacht is emerging following her recent sea trials.
Using Perini Navi 88m/289ft mega yacht MALTESE FALCON as inspiration, superyacht BLACK PEARL with initial naval architecture by Ken Freivokh was known as PROJECT NAUTILUS in the initial design stages, and is the culmination of more than 10 years of design and technical study from multiple shipyards, including Devonport Yachts (acquired by Pendennis and now known as Pendennis Plus). Dykstra Naval Architects, who created the Dyna-rig concept for S/Y MALTESE FALCON, improved and updated the system for the larger superyacht, while superyacht designers Nuvolari Lenard have developed the layout and exterior shaping into a 107m sailing yacht based on hull lines by Dykstra Naval Architects, as well as created her exterior styling & interior, with interiors entirely designed by Valentina Zannier, Partner and Head of Interior Design at Nuvolari-Lenard. She was assisted by French architect Gerard Villate.
