The answer is simple! The 10th Anniversary of the Singapore Yacht Show (SYS) to be held from 15th to 18th October 2020 at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove is set to be bigger than ever for all yachting and boating professionals and enthusiasts alike. It is definitely one event that should not miss from your agenda, especially if you are keen on discovering new charter grounds or planning a luxury holiday in Asia.
When SYS had its inaugural edition in 2011, its mission was to provide a platform for local and international shipyards to debut their models in Asia. A decade on and the event has expanded considerably, attracting a whole host of shipbuilders and luxury brands from bespoke jewellers to luxury property groups.
Some highlights you can expect to see at SYS 2020 are on-water demonstrations, live music and parties, children activities, supercars parade and the stars of the event – the yachts.
In recent years, the ASEAN economic community has been promoting the region as an alternative to the Caribbean and Bahamas for winter yacht charters. Here is some of what the region has to offer:

Luxury shopping opportunities are abundant for those looking to update their wardrobes, pick up the latest accessories or find some unique items for the home and garden. After a satisfying trip into the city, guests can rest and rejuvenate at one of the luxury spas or return to Sentosa Island for sunbathing on the fine golden sand beaches. Silosa Beach is lined with bars and restaurants for an afternoon in the sunshine followed by parties long into the night, whereas Tanjong Beach has a more tranquil and natural atmosphere fringing the Sentosa Golf Club.
Should you decide to move on from the Lion City, the surrounding luxury yacht charter grounds have plenty to offer – to the north, Malaysia and Thailand are replete with snorkelling and Scuba diving sites, particularly Tioman Island which is just a short cruise away from One°15 Marina Sentosa Cove, the venue of Singapore Yacht Show 2020.
Malaysia is perfect for authentic cultural experiences and untouched wildernesses above and below the sea. In contrast, Thailand – particularly around Phuket and Phang Nga Bay – has all the benefits of a roaring nightlife and boutique shopping combined with the tranquillity of the karst islands and deserted beaches that can only be accessed by boat. Manta rays, butterflyfish, dragonfish and clownfish are all possible sightings within the surrounding waters for a memorable luxury yacht charter that will satisfy children and adults alike.
To the Southeast, Indonesia is a haven for Scuba divers and North Sulawesi is ranked among the top 10 dive sites in the world. Go on a muck dive for the chance to see pygmy seahorses and colourful nudibranchs or photograph the colourful hard and soft corals thriving around Raja Ampat, the most biodiverse dive spot on the planet.
Guests in the group looking to keep their heads above water can visit the Komodo National Park and the myriad beaches within the uninhabited archipelago isles. The facilities aboard a luxury yacht can give you the choice to vanish from civilisation for an entire week without leaving behind any of the modern-day comforts.
