Renowned for their innovative way of thinking, Vripack was once again present at the Monaco Yacht Show attracting visitors and industry professionals with their unusual and eye-catching Art Installation ‘Engineering Fantasies’, with artistic mannequins holding cool 3D-printed models of their latest designs. One of the recent projects, at the show held by a mannequin representing ‘transparency’, is the motor yacht concept CASA, for which the design brief was to incorporate typical Brazilian house features aboard a super yacht.
Brazilian KISS from a Dutch lady
Combine new times and new cultures with the good old tradition of true Family boating and one gets an ecliptic mix which gives a totally sensible yet un-orthodox ship. Vripack crafted a contemporary globe trotter that again will set a new standard.
Keeping up with the Family
Creating a custom yacht is always special, however, when the whole Family from grandparents to children and grandkids are all avid sailors a spark alights in every naval architects mind. The layout of this globetrotting ship is one of the key features where this is clearly visible. “We kept the aft deck totally obstruction free, designed a lofty one and a half story welcome lounge with lazy side spiralling stairs and via a discrete hallway this connects to two senior VIP’s allowing elderly to remain on one deck for a longer period of time without losing any proper yacht function” Explains Robin de Vries from Vripack.
Vripack laid out the whole aft ship below decks around a huge parents-room which is directly connected to two kids-rooms. All rooms can be kept open to connect without obstructions and the double king size mum and pap bed allows for long sleep-ins with everyone in bed.
Brazilian House – the next standard
The CASA yacht concept’s bridge deck is a truly unique feature in the yachting industry, lacking the traditional aft deck but including a Brazilian-House-inspired complete open middeck. “We have never seen this before and it took quite some inspiration to come up with this new feature. However, for a Family yacht where you want young and old to stay safe regardless your position this will become a new standard”, says Robin. “Being a typical Vripack she will sail all around the world so the position is great for exploring the Amazon and look over the jungle as well as the Arctic. Next to the full glass observatory in the back the open middeck can easily be cooled down and heated. Besides, it is a complete new way of the interior becoming exterior.”
Principle 8
Motor yacht concept CASA is a full bread Vripack so the Holistic masterminds from the Dutch Studio designed, besides efficient crew area’s which include a private external one, the ship with their renowned full displacement hull and Smart Kit® engineering. “In technical terms this is a very dull ship as she is completely kept KISS. The lines are proven, the machinery is proven and there are no outrages technologies on board which need university trained workers to run and fail during the Drake Passage crossing. Following Principle 8 of our Vripack Code we only use reliable and fully tested technologies”, according to Robin.
