Vripack has revealed details about its latest collaboration – the MCP 120 – with Brazilian shipyard MCP Yachts. Designed for a South American owner with a large family, the 36.5m/120ft luxury yacht is comprised of an unusual layout to ensure optimal space usage enhanced by the natural environment.
“Creating maximum space value on a 120’er required a creative approach to space planning” said Bart Bouwhuis, Creative Director at Vripack. “A very energetic co-creation process between the Owner, MCP and our team lead to a perfectly sensible yet highly unconventional layout. ”
The main deck contains the Owners’ stateroom and two guest suites, while the lower deck is home to the two VIP staterooms. The upper deck has a forward lounge with an asymmetrical balcony for family privacy, while the aft interior is also a communal space and leads out onto the expansive outdoor deck area.
“We are known for our high-quality aluminum semi-planning yachts” MCP President and CEO Manoel Chaves commented. “Vripack designed a new hull which allows for very high level of comfort even in rougher weather while maintaining her semi planning characteristics. This will give the family a long reach of sailing destination within a shorter time while they all enjoy wonderful valuable family moments on board.
“The result of this design identifies clearly why I wanted Vripack to work creatively, side by side with us, for at least the next seven or seventy times seven years. Their Award Winning Holistic team of 80 with over 7000 ships under their belt since 1961 and a hawk-eye focus on their ‘Better Boats in Less Time’ pledge makes them a highly capable addition to our own skilled team”.
The MCP 120 will achieve a range of 3,500 nautical miles using 2 x CAT C32 Acerts 1.925 mHP engines, allowing for a long range speed of almost 11 knots and a top speed of 21 knots. Sleeping 11 guests over 5 cabins, there will also be 4 crew cabins to accommodate a crew of 8.
