February 23 saw the well known Italian luxury yacht builder, VSY, receive another prominent award for its commitment to environmental protection as well as integrated sustainability during the annual UIM (Union Internationale Motonautique) World Champions Awards Giving Gala. The event was held at the Fairmont Hotel in Monaco.
In the presence of institutional authorities, industry, VIP guests, opinion leaders and media, at international level, VSY have been rewarded with the UIM Special Mention for Environmental Benefit. The mention was given to recognize the commitment of the Italian shipyard to reduce the negative environmental effects, accidents and occupational diseases; to pursue pollution prevention; to evaluate the adoption of Green Procurement criteria; to verify and adopt energy-saving measures; to inform the public concerning the environmental impact of the activities over which the company has control or influence.
“VSY are honored to receive this UIM Special Mention” – said Vienna Eleuteri, VSY Sustainability Project Manager, who received the award from the Italian Ambassador in Monaco, Antonio Morabito, and Riccardo Ballesio, UIM Environmental Working Group Chairman – “UIM has given us a unique opportunity to share strategic targets and to implement environmental responsibility. These are the occasions which allow us to create suitable synergies with the various business partnership in the community, and to promote networking able of assessing the potential need for a sector which is facing deep changes.”
