Situated in the lovely South Pacific yacht charter location – Fiji, the Vuda Superyacht Marina Project, an extension of the existing Vuda Marina complex, is set to become a hub for yachtsmen heading to the South Pacific in the southern hemisphere winter, and a safe haven in the summer cyclone season. The current Vuda Marina is owned by Aqua Foods Ltd – a wholly owned subsidiary of Tradewinds Marine Ltd.
The current marina covers 11 acres of Native title on a 75 year term, expiring in 2058. The company has received approval to develop 22 acres of foreshore for a superyacht marina and major expansion of current marina facilities. That work commenced in November 2012 with construction of a 160m retaining wall, additional hard stand space, and a catamaran haul out ramp facility. It is expected to take up to 4 years to complete.
The owners are currently looking for an equal share equity partner in the development.
Uniquely situated 10 kms north of Nadi International Airport and 10kms south of Lautoka, an industrial and commercial hub of Fiji, Vuda Marina is a great place to be based and explore the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands of Fiji – these are Fiji’s top resort locations and a fabulous chain of islands.
There is a real need for Superyacht Marina facilities in all parts of the Southern Hemisphere and Fiji is a central location and port of call for a growing number of larger yachts. The Vuda facility will satisfy the needs of these owners and the requirement to have their vessels properly berthed and serviced.
Vuda’s unique fully enclosed design means that it is the only marina that we known of in the tropical Pacific in which yachts are covered by the major global insurance companies during the cyclone season. Owners are assured of peace of mind.
