The 44m sailing yacht Wally 145 has been revealed by the Italian shipbuilder Wally. The new vessel is under construction and is scheduled for a launch in May 2019. Designed for a knowledgeable yachtsman, Wally 145 has naval architecture by German Frers. Wally’s in-house team designs the interior spaces in collaboration with Droulers Architects and Studio Mauro Sculli.
Sailing yacht Wally 145 measures 44metres and is best described as a light-weight yacht, well-balanced, perfect for family cruising and racing. Her outstanding feature is the combination of high volumes and a light displacement of 171 tonnes. Built with carbon fibre technology, Wally 145 is about 100 tonnes lighter than other yachts of the same size range.
German Frers commented: “Extensive research was conducted in order to get the best performance while striving to produce the lightest weight within its specifications, a pleasant and ample interior, three different and separate deck areas and a very sophisticated sail handling system.”
Silent mode sailing will be provided by the hybrid propulsion and lithium batteries. This will also allow Wally 145 to run on full autonomy at night with air conditioning and other services running.
When powered, Wally will reach a top speed of 15 knots. She will be an incredibly eco-friendly superyacht, avoiding pollution and entering ports with no diesel engine assistance.
Interior spaces of Wally 145 are designed to be spacious and perfect for comfortable cruising. Located on the same level, the main salon and the social cockpits add to Wally’s style and comfort.
Accommodation is provided for a total of 8 guests. The owner’s master suite is believed to be very spacious, as it has two queen-size beds, his and her bathroom facilities, two large walk-in wardrobes and an office. Two twin cabins with one Pullman bed are ideal for cruising with a family.
