This year, the prestigious UK luxury yacht builder, Pendennis, has been concentrating on modernising their website, as part of their 25th anniversary. The new version has been successfully launched this month.
After reviewing Google Analytics it was apparent that an unusually high percentage of users in the superyacht sector are now accessing online data via mobile platforms. The yard’s priority was therefore not only to modernise the look of the site, but to develop an online experience that was fully scalable between mobile and desktop devices, with immediate access to relevant data crucial to low-bandwidth users such as yacht crews. The introduction of a new search function as well as streamlined interactivity allows all data to be accessed using no more than two clicks throughout the whole site.
Alongside information about Pendennis and historic projects, the new website introduces new design concepts, initially focussing on British design as part of Pendennis 25th anniversary celebrations. This section will continue to expand over time, showcasing the exciting range of design talent in the industry globally.
Pendennis has taken the opportunity to highlight the experience of their visiting crews, incorporating a range of information, photos, video and downloads specifically tailored to their time in Falmouth. The website also officially launches the Crew Alumni ENewsletter, which will keep Pendennis related crews (past and present) updated with the latest news about the yard and share invitations to crew events organised by the company.
