Westport has launched the latest Westport 164 series motor yacht Wabi Sabi. The yacht features exterior styling and interior design by Donald Starkey with naval architecture by William Garden. Yacht Wabi Sabi was built under hull number 5008 and is the 8th yacht in the American yard Westport’s 164 flagship series.
50m trideck M/Y Wabi Sabi is very similar to her sister ships and is still the largest composite production yacht in the world since the launch of the first hull by Westport in 2006.
The Wabi Sabi yacht will be able to accommodate up to twelve guests in six luxurious staterooms including a Master suite on the main deck, a VIP cabin located on the bridge deck and four double cabins on the lower deck. She has an innovative layout designed for entertaining and relaxed socializing.
The refined hull form of the Westport 164 yacht is capable of exceptional ocean going performance. Yacht Wabi Sabi is powered by twin 3,650hp 16V 4,000 MTU diesels that should enable a top speed of 24 knots, a cruising speed of 20-22 knots and a maximum range of around 5,200 NM at an economical speed of 12 knots. She is currently undergoing her sea trials from the marina of Port Angeles which will confirm the exact speeds and range. ABS-classed and MCA-compliant, the 164 series from Westport is equally well suited as a private yacht or a charter yacht.
Superyacht Wabi Sabi is expected to be delivered to her owner in Spring 2011.
Motor yacht Boardwalk was the 7th Westport 164. She was launched in 2010.
