Wild Group has announced the completion of yet another ToughGuard Project – coating the hull of the 58-metre motor yacht ILLUSION V. The works have taken place at the Benetti Shipyard in Livorno, Italy.

One of the most important features of ToughGuard is that the coating adheres to the painted surface and does not wear off easily. The USA ToughGuard team have been able to witness 3-5 years of exceptional results in the aviation industry. In addition, it has a long-lasting UV protection, which prevents the paint from fading, as well as provides a deeper gloss coating thanks to the better levelling of the polish.

A gloss effect black vinyl finish has also been applied to the tender, which was then protected with a layer of ToughGuard on completion. This means the customer will have the possibility to see how the ToughGuard product can protect both vinyl and paint finishes.

The Captain of M/Y ILLUSION was pleased with the quality of the job, and the products use by the Wild Group team, stating: “Thank for your quick and flexible approach, we are looking forward to having an easy clean hull this year, especially around the exhausts – where we have had real soot problems.”
