Wim van der Valk Continental Yachts have been selected as one of the finalists in the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2015, with motor yacht The Next Episode. Built and developed under the Continental III series line, superyacht The Next Episode is set to compete in the ‘Power Yacht 25-40 Metres’ Award.
Built by the Dutch shipyard Wim van der Valk Continental Yachts, super yacht The Next Episode features interior and exterior design executed by the Leiden-based Guido de Groot Design.
The Next Episode yacht is a contemporary and spacious yacht. Her main deck features an al fresco dining area next to the main salon. She also has a professional galley which can be opened up or closed off from view depending on the social setting. For this project the client desired a contemporary styled yacht with a raised pilothouse and main-deck owner’s cabin.
The interior design of luxury yacht The Next Episode was sought to be clear, modern and fresh, and boast a generous main salon that could directly access an adjacent alfresco dining area. The use of white-washed oak, high-gloss lacquered Wengé, and white lacquered surfaces was chosen to balance with a mix of leathers and fabrics for wall coverings and other furnishings. A professional-grade galley was requested that could be opened-up or closed-off from the main salon depending on the social setting.
A priority consideration was the integration of a powerful sound system for both interior and exterior spaces which included several surround-sound speakers and subwoofers neatly integrated into the yacht’s interior and exterior design. This request required special attention to acoustic requirements at an early phase of the project.
Below deck, the owner requested accommodations for up to 8 guests in 2 VIP and 2 twin berth cabin as well as adequate space for up to 3 crew members.
