British designer Andrew Winch and the team at Winch Design have completed a challenging 9-day cycle from London to Monaco over mountains and through valleys to raise money for the Blue Marine Foundation, arriving at their destination in time for the Monaco Yacht Show 2019.
Arriving in town on the 24th of September at 14:30, the team has so far raised £65,400 (approx. €74,145) from the generous supporters of Winch Design with a goal of raising £70,000.
The Blue Marine Foundation has raised a total of £517,000 (approx. €586,000) so far, which will be used to further conservation work across the globe in popular cruising destinations such as the Maldives and the Solent as well as populous environmentally sensitive regions such as Belize. By 2030, the foundation hopes to protect 30% of the world’s oceans. Winch Design is still taking donations at their charity page, which shows the team are now more than 95% towards their goal.
Six yachts featuring the work of Winch Design will be on display at the Monaco Yacht Show this year, running from the 25th to the 28th of September.
