Representing the amazing new line of yachts to be built at Cantiere Navale di Ostia (Canados), Oceanic Yachts is thrilled to announce that the works in progress for the Oceanic 90′ motor yacht hull #1 are proceeding quickly and following the milestones of the main project’s schedule, while the completion of the Oceanic 140′ superyacht hull #1 Dielec has been rescheduled for the spring of 2015, due to client’s wish to modify some elements of the interior design.
Oceanic 90’ – Hull # 1 Work in progress and definitive color decided
The first Oceanic 90′ superyacht in its standard version – already been sold – is due to be delivered mid-June 2014. As for the first Oceanic 90′ the shipyard announces that the works are progressing according to plans with the first deck of the yacht’s superstructure already installed, partition of the lower and main deck completed, engines, tanks and generator installed. Electrical wiring and piping are 90% completed and ceiling installed. In another shed, the joinery shop is has completed the furniture and is currently processing with the finish and wood veneers. Late March 2014 yard was getting ready for the installation of the upper deck which will be devoted to the Owner’s suite. Owner decided for a grey color for hull while white has been chosen for the superstructure.
Oceanic 140’ – Hull # 1 Work in progress
For this first Oceanic 140′ yacht (in its DiElec version) the shipyard announces that the lamination of the hull and its partition have already been completed with the superstructure construction running along with deck partition and installation. During the month of March 2014 the main deck lamination as well as the bulb have been completed as well.
The completion of this first 140’ yacht model have been rescheduled for the spring of 2015 due to the owner’s decision to make some changes to the interior design.
The Oceanic 140’ Dielec luxury yacht Hull no. 1 will be introduced to the public at the Cannes Boat Show and Monaco Yacht Show in 2015.
The twin-stepped hull reduces friction and increases low speed performance and stability, thanks to a specifically designed bulb tank tested at the Italian Naval Institute. The result is a unique composite built expedition yacht of 43-meters capable of 5,400 nautical miles range at 8.5 knots (less than 50 liters/13 US gallons per hour fuel consumption), but also keen on cruising between 22 and 24-knots, with a top speed close to 27 knots.
This concept offers the best of both displacement and semi-planning configurations, more specifically displacement at speeds under 14-knots and semi-planning above that speed. In general, displacement speeds offer lower consumption and longer range, while semi-planning offers higher performances.
About Oceanic 90’
Amongst the amenities offered by this first Oceanic 90′ the upper deck owner’s suite with private terrace, while a VIP plus two guest cabins are located on the lower deck. The interior decoration is a result of a study undertaken by Canados in-house design studio in conjunction with the Owners. The primary timbers used throughout will consist of limed oak, Ebony of Macassar, glossy and satin lacquered wood and solid wood floors on the main deck. The convertible aft deck, with modular outdoor furniture, will stow a 6.50m tender plus, a QuadJet, 2 stand up jet skis while two personal water-crafts will be stored in the transom garage. The engine room will be buffered from the lower deck guest cabins by the vast crew quarters and Boffi manufactured galley.
The first Oceanic 90′ yacht will be introduced to the public during the Cannes Boat Show in 2014.
About Oceanic 140’ DiElec
The Oceanic 140’ superyacht features a superstructure entirely made of Kevlar/Aramat, a state-of-the-art material employed in aeronautics. Aramat offers substantial gains in weight and strength. The 140 is powered by triple MTU 16V2000 M94 engines producing 2,600 hp each coupled to Fortjes counter rotating propellers pod drives. Two additional Auxilia electric 120 kW motors allow her to run in diesel-electric configuration at 8.5-knots with a fuel consumption under 50 liters per hour. When being on the run on the three MTU, the 140’ is capable of a cruising speed in the region of 23 knots for a top end speed of 27 knots.
The Oceanic 140’, thanks to her diesel-electric propulsion and her “displaning” twin stepped hull with bulbous bow, offers impressive long range capacity with 5,400 Nautical Miles at 8.5 knots.
What makes the Oceanic 140′ yacht unique is the combination of diesel-electric engine with the “Displaning” high-performance hull concept conceived by Arrabito Naval Design in collaboration with shipyard’s chief naval Architect Giovanni Senatore.
