The preparations for the 11th edition of Seatec – International Exhibition Technologies, Subcontracting and Design for Boats, Megayachts and Ships – as well as the 5th edition of Compotec – International Exhibition Composites & Related Technologies, running from 6th to 8th February 2013, are well underway. Both events will once again exhibit the best of naval and marine components, along with the composite materials world.
The “Green Policy” route, opened last February with Greentec, the initiative dedicated to companies whose products better respond to eco-sustainability criteria, registered the participation of many exhibitors: their eco-friendly productions are still on evidence on the sites of the two events.
Wealth, life styles and economic growth can no longer exist leaving aside the proper ways of taking care of the planet. The Exhibitors of Seatec and Compotec have already focused on this issue in terms of research and production, demonstrating that small and medium-sized industry managed to respond to the new arising needs.
Seatec is the natural venue in the Mediterrenean area for international marine business activities while Compotec, as the only Italian event totally dedicated to composite materials, is a unique opportunity to get a deeper look into this market and learn more about the industry of composites, increasingly used in a wide range of applications: aeronautics and aviation, automotive, design, marine, transportation, building, energy, medicine, sports and leisure, artistic experimentation etc.
Since 2006, “Abitare il Mare”, conceived by Decio Carugati and promoted by CarraraFiere, is a “box” of design-related events with special focus on life-styles’ changes involving crucial themes such as the use of new materials, ergonomics, innovations and sustainability. At the same time, conferences and workshops about more specific and technical issues, organized by exhibitors and organizations, will be completing the rich calendar of side-events of Seatec and Compotec.
The MYDA – Millennium Yacht Design Award competition, at the tenth edition in 2013, now has a third section:
SECTION C, The boat on a human scale: Development of outdoor and indoor lines of a sailing or motor boat of small dimensions, max within 10 meters, where design combines shapes and function, demonstrating awareness towards the psychophysical features and the exigencies of the pleasure-boat owner through solutions made for the serial production, innovative for safety (e.g. easy reach of the safety equipment), usage (e.g. low muscular strain during manoeuvres) and living (e.g. modularity of indoor spaces).
The sought Qualitec Award, open to Seatec 2013 Exhibitors, will also be on stage: the award is dedicated to those companies whose products contribute to innovation and quality of life on board. The competition is divided into two categories: Technology, (10th edition) and Design (5th edition).
Seatec-Compotec records from year to year a growing increase of interest and affluence of professionals from all over the world. The organization of promotional activities carried out by CarraraFiere helps to create a significant turnover for exhibitors, who are mostly confirming their participantion in Seatec-Compotec 2013.
