During the Monaco Yacht Show 2015, Jeff Summers from USA was announced as the winner of the Yacht Design Talent Award 2015. Launched by Sea Level yacht design & engineering, in partnership with Heesen Yachts, the contest is aimed at students, from any course, who are able to bring fresh ideas to this contest and think outside the box. The 2015 contest challenge was to design a new profile of a 50m motor yacht, including a detailed sundeck.
A total number of 26 students from 13 countries worldwide have submitted their superyacht designs. At the end of August 2015, a professional jury gathered and selected six of the best designs. Elected by the jury and the social media audience, the top three contestants, including the winner Jeff Summers from USA, Banu Hunler from Italy and Dastinas Steponenas from Lithuania, were subsequently invited to the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show.
Shortly after the prize giving at the Heesen Yachts stand on September 26, the prominent Dutch shipyard gave the students the amazing opportunity to visit multiple Heesen Yachts on display at the Monaco Yacht Show.
