Boats as well as CEOs from shipyards across the world are coming to the next 2013 edition of Hainan Rendez-Vous, the yacht show that attracts thousands of China’s top business elites to the fabulous shores of Sanya each year. Set to run from March 30th to April 2nd, this year’s Rendez-Vous will delight visitors with an amazing fleet of spectacular ships, among them seven superyachts in the 30-50-metre range. Futhermore, the rich program of social events at the event is sure to keep networking as well as celebrations running at high intensity throughout the four-day show.
Almost all yacht brands that exhibited at last year’s Hainan Rendez-Vous will be exhibiting at the 2013 edition, many of them occupying additional berths and larger exhibition booths. Returning visitors will recognize familiar faces from Lürssen, Feadship, Heesen Yachts, Blohm+Voss, Royal Huisman, Trinity, Oceanco, Brunswick, Jeanneau, Beneteau Group, Azimut – Benetti, Kingship, Sanlorenzo, Marquis, Sunseeker China, Princess Yachts, Sunbird, Heysea and others.
Due to the strong demand from these returning shipyards, several yacht builders who were hoping to exhibit at Hainan Rendez-Vous 2013 unfortunately were unable to reserve a space. New names that did manage to secure exhibition booths for this year’s show include German megayacht builder Abeking & Rasmussen, and the Italian shipyards Tecnomar and Filippetti.
The 130-boat fleet at Hainan Rendez-Vous 2013 will fill the show marina to maximum capacity, and will include the following majestic superyachts:
– 50-metre aluminum tri-deck motor yacht Sapphire, built by US shipyard Trinity
– 42-metre yacht Star by Taiwanese shipyard Kingship that, with her blue-hull and classic design, held crowds enchanted at last year’s Rendez-Vous
– 45-metre superyacht Blue Sky from Feadship; fitted with a helicopter pad and mahjong room, this boat became the first European-built superyacht sold to a mainland China buyer, the sale taking place at last year’s Hainan Rendez-Vous
– 34-metre luxury yacht Aycer 34 by Dubai shipyard Sayer Yachts
– 32-metre fibreglass yacht Next by Custom Line, a division of Chinese-Italian shipyard Ferretti
– 28-metre superyacht Nica II by Benetti
The thrill of catamarans sailing will also be on full display at Hainan Rendez-Vous 2013. Outstanding cats at the boat show will include the 70 Feng yacht, a 21-metre vessel with stunning Asian-inspired design by Sunreef, and the Leopard 44, named by Cruising World as the Best Import Boat and Best Multi-Hull Boat of 2012.
Underscoring the growing importance of Hainan Rendez-Vous in the global yacht show circuit, the yacht brands Marquis, Azimut, Beneteau and Jeanneau as well as Leopard Catamaran will all be unveiling new vessels for either the Asian or world market at the show.
Show organisers say that yacht exhibitors are working harder this year to win the favor of China’s wealthy elites by organising more parties and special events. Business jet and lifestyle exhibitors at Hainan Rendez-Vous will also be holding several events onboard the big ships of the yacht show.
Sea trials will be taking prospective yacht buyers out over the waters continuously, with at least ten yacht brands offering test cruises this year.
Other attractions for show guests will include, of course, the Hainan Rendez-Vous Supercar Showcase, this year headlined by the new McLaren P1. The Hainan Rendez-Vous 2013 Lifestyle Collection will include a Chopard ring with rare 31.32-carat chameleon diamond, among other beautiful objects on display.
This year’s Art in Hainan exhibition will explore the concept of the garden through the works of several distinguished contemporary artists. Gala dinners, cocktail hours, seminars, wine and caviar tastings, after-dark parties and other events will provide further opportunities for guest to enjoy their time with one another, experience lifestyle brands and interact with show exhibitors and sponsors.
“We’re doing everything we can to make this year’s Hainan Rendez-Vous the most successful edition yet for our sponsors and exhibitors,” says Diana Jaquier, Managing Director of China Rendez-Vous Ltd. “We invested more in the domestic marketing campaign for this year, and significant numbers of new VIP guests will be coming as a result. Thanks to our partners, we have a superb show waiting for them.”
Delphine Lignieres, show founder and CEO of China Rendez-Vous Ltd, added: “We are profoundly grateful for the continued loyal support of our sponsors and exhibitors. We’re now completely focused on making this event smooth and successful for them.”
