Is it a yacht or is it a plane? She is one of those yachts that will generate a lot of talk and a great range of opinions, thanks to her unusual appearance and characteristics. The new 70m superyacht concept by the established Italian shipyard Codecasa was inspired by the aviation industry, which is also reflected on her name: CODECASA JET 2020. Once launched, she is sure to turn heads wherever she appears and we cannot wait to see more updates coming out in the upcoming months.
The Italian shipyard chose stylistic features from another industry associated with luxury travel to create a superyacht like no other: There’s no mistaking the rounded bow and the porthole-like windows on the upper and lower decks, while the main deck windows form a long dark ribbon along the port and starboard sides.
Air inlets and radar antennas concealed within carbon fibre domes add further aeroplane-related detailing and give clean styling to the exposed outdoor areas, where there is a swimming pool at the centre of the upper deck alfresco dining and sunbathing area.
At 70m/229.6ft the concept will become the shipyard’s flagship once built, and there’s space for plenty of on board amenities such as the sea-level beach club that has a lift, and a light-filled skylounge in addition to the main salon.
The guest accommodation provides four en-suite cabins on the lower deck and a Master suite in the main deck bow for a total of 10 guests. The crew are also accommodated on the lower deck within the bow section, while the Captain’s cabin is placed behind the pilothouse on the upper deck. The tenders will be stored amidships and a helipad is situated aft.
The shipyard will begin construction on M/Y CODECASA JET 2020 within the first half of 2020.
