In order to cope with industry demand, the UK Bristol-based Yachting Pages, the world’s leading superyacht directory, is presently expanding its administration team. Sarah Lyddon, an ambitious administrator, has just joined the company.
Making her first mark on the marine industry, Sarah said, “Some administrative positions can seem a little dry but when you’re dealing with such an interesting product as superyachts, the days fly by.
“With perks like planning travel and accommodation for international boat shows from Cannes and Monaco to FLIBS in Florida and METS in Amsterdam, I’ve got many reasons to be cheerful at Yachting Pages. Part of my job also involves liaising with superyacht businesses and verifying the contact details of companies listed in Yachting Pages’ books and on Yachting Pages’ website, which is an enjoyable task.”
Sarah joins the company at an interesting time for the print production industry. With e-book sales increasing year on year, promotion of Yachting Pages’ downloadable, digital books is key on everyone’s agenda for 2013.
Sarah commented, “There are over 12,000 superyacht-related businesses listed on Yachting Pages’ website but what happens if the yacht’s internet connection is lost? With our hand-delivered directories on the bridge and our e-books downloaded to the captain’s laptop, Yachting Pages is always within easy reach.”
Despite the e-book boom, Yachting Pages’ print directories are going from strength to strength, with plans to deliver tens of thousands of directories to captains and crews in over 90 countries in 2013. Hand-delivery is the company’s trademark, and is something which contributed to their winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade in 2009.
Sarah concluded, “While looking for a job, I didn’t expect to find such an innovative, international company right on my doorstep. Bristol never ceases to amaze me, and I look forward to a productive career within the Yachting Pages team – both here and abroad!”
