It has been a great success of the superyacht industry at the recent Cannes Boat Show and the Monaco Yacht Show, with more business taking place in 2013. Yachting Pages is among the businesses that are regularly present at boat shows and this year, the top superyacht directory has launched two new products, Yachting Pages Delivers as well as Yachting Pages Refit.
With the Superyacht Owners’ Guide website almost complete and the Refit website under construction the team have clearly been busy, so it came as no surprise that figures confirmed that this September was the best ever for the business since the company was founded over 10 years ago.
Top superyacht journalist Michael Howorth spoke to the media group at Monaco and mentioned, “This time last year I was speaking to a refit yard who had just one yacht on their books and were concerned about the following season. This year I have spoken to them again. They are currently working on four independent projects and are busier than ever before. This is good news and I think reflects the growth in the marine sector as a whole.”
Xavier Nedjam, one of Yachting Pages’ multilingual account managers explained, “This year’s charter season has picked up and the marine industry as a whole seems more enthusiastic. Money is flowing a little more freely, which makes happier customers, happier exhibitors and happier visitors to the show.
“There was a fantastic positive attitude at both Cannes and Monaco with the shows being busier than ever. It was a pleasure to be there and be part of such a great atmosphere. Finding out at the end that Yachting Pages has seen a 43% increase on last year means to me that our customers are doing good business, and that is what is most important.”
The media group has seen growth of 70% between September 2012 and 2013. Which correlates with the overall increase in spend at both Monaco and Cannes. In fact many yacht sales were formalised on the first day of the show, with owners already knowing exactly what they wanted, they were happy to sign off the multi million pound deals within hours of seeing their dream motor or sailing yacht in the harbour.
