This year’s 22nd Dubai International Boat Show to open tomorrow

This year’s 22nd Dubai International Boat Show is set to open its doors tomorrow, on March 4, with two of the largest superyachts in the history of the event on display. In addition, the Show will feature a wide range of activities, comprising amazing prize giveaways, live entertainment, as well as exclusive dining experiences, together with convenient parking and public transportation.

More than 26,000 visitors from the 70 countries are set to attend the region’s largest marine leisure exhibition, held from 4-8 March 2014 at the Dubai International Marine Club – Mina Seyahi.

Making it easier than ever to attend the Dubai International Boat Show 2014, visitors can park at the following locations and take RTA water taxis or shuttle buses to Dubai International Marine Club, Mina Seyahi: Gateway Towers at the entrance to Palm Jumeirah (shuttle buses), Al Sufouh Beach Parking opposite Dubai Knowledge Village (shuttle buses and water taxis), Dubai Marina Mall (shuttle buses), SkyDive Dubai (shuttle buses and water taxis). In addition shuttle buses are available to transport visitors from Nakheel Metro Station and Marina Metro Station.

At the show, visitors can expect to be enthralled by the 430 boats on display, including 19 superyachts at the stunning outdoor Marina Display Area. The SYBAss Lounge, which falls under the umbrella of the prestigious Superyacht Builders Association (SYBAss), has 10 members confirmed to participate at the event. Two of the largest superyachts in the history of the Dubai International Boat Show will be showcased on outdoor Marina Display Area.

The 88.5-metre-long superyacht Nirvana, built by Oceanco and exhibited by Edmiston, is one of the world’s top 50 longest superyachts and the exhibition’s largest-ever superyacht to date. The 88 metre Quattroelle superyacht, built by German shipyard Lürssen, will also be showcased this year. The luxury superyacht features elegant accommodation for up to 12 guests and provides plenty of exterior deck space for entertainment and relaxation.

The show will host 42 global and regional launches including regional launches of the 13.5-meter Cranchi, an 11-meter boat from Christ Craft, the 12-meter Everglade by Gulf Yachts, the 8.9 meter Qs855 Activ from Delma Marine, amphibious quad skis from Gibbs Sports, and the first-ever amphibious ribs from ASIS Boats.

Of the show’s 750 exhibiting companies and brands from 50 countries around the world, many are putting an increased emphasis on small to medium sized boats, speed boats, and jet skis for visitors looking to pursue leisure marine activities. Thrill-seekers can explore jet skis and diving equipment, along with countries promoting their destinations for boating, jet skiing, snorkelling and diving.

“The Dubai International Boat Show 2014 makes for a perfect family outing with an exciting range of prize giveaways and activities taking place amidst the world’s most exclusive boats and maritime brands on display,” said Trixie LohMirmand, Senior Vice President of Dubai World Trade Centre, the exhibition’s organiser. “In response to visitor feedback, we are showcasing a wide range of boats from the most luxurious superyachts to small and medium sized boats for individuals looking to purchase their first boat.”

Wide range of prizes, giveaways and entertainment
Visitors can enter competitions and prize giveaways in-person and on the radio for tickets to the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil semifinals and finals, along with vouchers for scuba diving, boat rides, limousine rides, stays and dining at luxury hotels, and maritime footwear and accessories. In addition, live entertainment will be provided by DJs, Brazilian capoeira performers, and a live band.

As part of the inaugural  Dubai Food Festival, Nobu at Atlantis, The Palm, will offer a special menu at the Dubai International Boat Show 2014, which has long been associated with premium brands from yachting to fine dining. Featuring celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s signature dishes from the legendary Black Cod to Chicken Tacos with Spicy Miso and selections of sushi, the exclusive menu will give a delicious glimpse into Nobu’s iconic cuisine. Nobu Atlantis is Nobu’s first outlet in the region and has blazed a new trail for the acclaimed chef, infusing his cutting-edge Japanese style with South American influences to create a distinctly urban experience.

Launched by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) to highlight the Emirate’s strong and growing culinary credentials, the Dubai Food Festival is a city-wide celebration of food, featuring industry conferences, appearances from world-renowned chefs, and a wide range food-related activities, tastings and events. Underway since 21 February, 2014, the Dubai Food Festival runs until 15 March, 2014.

The Dubai International Boat Show 2014 also features a diving pool at the Dive Middle East Exhibition (DMEX), allowing visitors to test their diving skills and get tips from the experts, and a wide range of maritime activities at the Heritage Village sponsored by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing. At the Supercar Promenade, visitors can experience the latest vehicles from premier manufacturers like, Bentley, McLaren, Mercedes and SRT.

Key returning partners include Italian luxury watch brand Officine Panerai as Supporting Partner, Mercedes-Benz as Official Car Partner, and ART MARINE as Marina Display Partner. Bombardier, the world’s only manufacturer of both planes and trains, is the exclusive sponsor of the LSS indoor pavilion.

The 22nd Dubai International Boat Show is held at the Dubai International Marine Club – Mina Seyahi, from 4-8 March 2014. The event will be open to trade visitors and the general public from 2 pm – 9:30 pm daily, with admission of AED 60.
