The Netherlands-based Younique Yachts produces custom aluminium superyacht tenders, chase-boats, as well as RIB’s of the very best quality. Earlier this year, the company delivered a stylish tender to the impressive 73m CRN mega yacht YALLA (CRN 132).
Younique Yachts listen to what the owner wants, but they believe it is just as important to listen to what the captain, the crew and even the builders of super yachts want.
What the owner wants is what Younique Yachts want to deliver, and because that is so important to them they talk to the captain and the crew before they do anything else. Usability, handling, comfort, performance… They know exactly what the owner’s preferences are. Also, their engineering, building and services are aimed at making the crew’s work as light and comfortable as we can.
But Younique Yachts take it a step further! “’We know the yards that build super yachts. We know about the tenderstore, the cranes and riggings, the facilities, and we make sure our custom work fits the circumstances. During the building process the yard can fit the casco we are working on in the tenderstore, so that the riggings can be adjusted and the cranes can be tested,” explains Egbert Wattel, owner of Younique Yachts.
Younique Yachts talked to the builders of super yachts and found that tenders built in serial production often do not suit their philosophy or the way they build. Many of them prefer to deliver the yacht without the tender. The result: problems with measurements, tight delivery periods and quality issues.
Younique Yachts gets involved even before the first drawings are made. The information they have gathered forms the framework for the design. The architect works within this framework and – taking the owners wishes into consideration – designs a unique boat. The result: a series of life-like 3D visuals that give the owner a clear and precise idea of what will be built.
With this approach and the company’s dedication the final result will be exactly what it needs to be. A perfect fit with the mother yacht, delivered at the agreed time; a tender that sails beautifully, is easy to maintain and – that goes without saying – has a perfect finishing.
